Rashmi Malhotra was born on twenty second day of July in 1978. Since childhood, she has been inquisitive about different aspects of life and was always more interested in experiencing life rather than learning about different concepts through schooling.
She did her Masters in Applied Psychology from University of Delhi in 2000. She went on to further pursue her interest in the area of Education and did her B.Ed. and M.Ed. from Central Institute of Education in 2001 and 2002. She is presently pursuing a course in Extra Lesson from Extra Lesson Institute Pty., Australia based on the philosophy of Anthroposophy.
After completing her M.Ed., she started teaching Psychology at various reputed schools in Delhi, such as Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Spring Dales School and Vasant Valley. Her teaching career also involved teaching Educational Psychology at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, University of Delhi and taking Psychology practicals at C.I.E., University of Delhi.
Along with teaching Psychology, she has been working as a trainer taking workshops in the area of Life Skills with various NGOs – Aga Khan Foundation, SOS and Plan India training their health workers and staff in different areas of life skills. She has also been involved in taking workshops in schools for teachers and students on different aspects of Leadership, Self awareness and training teachers to be counselors.
She has developed Training manuals for trainers at Aga Khan Development Network and Child Fund India to help the trainers in conducting workshops across different age groups in life skills. She has developed modules for IGNOU for Training teachers to be counselors.+++
At present, she is working as a Trainer and counselor for children helping them deal with various issues and challenges they face in their life.
Rashmi’s spiritual journey has been a part of her life since early years. She was always interested in exploring different philosophies of life and understanding life and beyond, through people’s experiences and books. Her self-reflective nature continuously helps her become aware of her actions and thoughts. She has been strongly influenced by Sri Aurobindo’s philosophy and also went on to study course on Integral studies from the International Centre for Integral Studies to understand the philosophy in depth.
