Aadesh Poddar was born on 13th October, 1944 in Delhi. Since childhood, she had a great inclination towards cultural and spiritual pursuits. She participated in various school debates and poetry competitions and excelled.
She did her post graduation in History from Miranda House, University of Delhi. She had a keen interest in learning different languages and has pursued Italian, French, Urdu and Bengali. She has written poems and articles for different magazines in different languages.
Aadesh was working as an entrepreneur, running her export house for 25 years. Life took a turn in 2006 when her spiritual journey became her prime focus. She got associated with Vastu and other alternate sciences. She has been a voracious reader of Indian Mythology, Kabir and Upanishads. She is a strong believer in the science of Jyotish and looks at it, as a window in the future which helps you to shape your life. She has been following the footsteps of Swami Niranjan Saraswati and is keenly interested in spreading his philosophy on “Improving life through yoga”.
At present, she is associated with social-educational institutions for translation work in Hindi so that it can reach all the corners of the society.
She has always believed in the theory of “bahu-jan sukhay, bahu-jan hitay” and has been involved in helping people from different walks of life. She worked for a Montessori school, Bal Kunj in Kolkatta. She later went on to work for school for differently-abled, ‘Mano Vikas Kendra’.
To pursue her interest in community work further, she joined Rotary in 1993. She held important positions and excelled in her performance. She has worked on important projects in Rotary with Akshay Pratisthan, Mata Amrit Anandmayi Math. She also worked on literacy projects at Bhondsi jail and is helping in running Anubhav School- a school for children from economically weaker section. At present, she is working with Earth Saviours Foundation to help them establish their old age home.
